Maureen Black is the Co-Principal Investigator for the Children’s HealthWatch Baltimore site at the University of Maryland.  Her research interests include maternal and child health.

Dr. Black was the associate editor of the Journal of Pediatric Psychology and served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Clinical Psychology Review.  Currently, Dr. Black is the John A. Scholl Professor of Pediatrics and the director of the Growth and Nutrition Clinic at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.  She is also an adjunct professor in the psychology department at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County

Dr. Black received her BA from Pennsylvania State University in Mathematics and her PhD at Emory University in Psychology.

Awards:

In 2002, Dr. Black was awarded the Interinstitutional Collaboration - Regent’s Award at the University of Maryland.  In 2009, she was elected to be on the Committee on International Relations in Psychology (CIRP) for the American Psychological Association and awarded the Virginia A. Beal Lectureship at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Also in 2009, she was awarded the Logan Wright Research Award in the Society of Pediatric Psychology.
